Join us for ECI DAY 2019 in Brussels
The year 2019 marks a new step in the life of the European Citizens’ Initiative. The EU institutions will vote on the final text of the new ECI Regulation, which was intended to provide a series of administrative simplifications and procedural changes to make this tool more citizen-friendly and less burdensome for the organisers. Was this a sufficiently successful ECI reform and what can we really expect from it? See our first critical assessment here.
Join our ECI Day 2019 event to discuss these questions and:
- be the first to know about the final text of the new ECI Regulation;
- reflect upon the ongoing changes in the global trends in voting and citizens’ active participation in the digital context;
- learn about and help co-create the new online collection system intended to expand the digital dimension of ECIs;
- find out about what the ECI and the EU can learn from national-agenda setting initiatives.
Last but not least, you will have an exclusive opportunity to participate
in a one-on-one exchange with
First Vice-President Frans Timmermans, who will
join the opening session to present the ECI-related work managed by the
European Commission and to participate in a Q&A session with the floor.
ECI Day is an important meeting place and platform where registered and future ECI organisers and stakeholders can exchange information and experiences and present their ECI and activities to the public. For the meeting agenda and further information, please visit the ECI Day 2019 website.
